-Who/What is the
Foundation?
The Nederland Community Library Foundation is the fund-raising
arm for the library. Money raised by the NCLF goes to support all
aspects of the library, including programming, book and magazine
purchasing, computer and technology support, and even land
development.
-What does the Foundation do?
The NCLF performs a variety of fund-raising activities: used book
sales throughout the year; the sale of “pavers”—the bricks outside
the front door that can be engraved with a special message or
commemoration; and an annual Winter Gala. The NCLF also
sends an annual letter to library supporters to report on how
donations are spent and to encourage further support.
-How can I donate my gently used books to the library?
We love your donations! Please review these , then
us and let us know when you’re available to drop the items
off at our storage room in the Community Center. It would be
helpful if you include approximately how many items or boxes of
items you intend to bring.
-I already pay taxes to support the library. Why do they
need a “fund-raising arm?”
The Nederland Community Library Foundation helps support and
supplement a variety of programs at the library. For instance, we
help fund the Experience Pass program, the Summer and Winter
Reading programs, and guest speakers and authors. We are also
able to make up shortfalls in funding during lean years to help
maintain consistent staff and services.

profit tax-exempt 501(c)(3) corporation organized exclusively for
charitable and educational purposes to:
1. To provide positive public attention to the Nederland
Community Library’s services, facilities, and programs;
2. To help promote and advocate the use and enjoyment of the
Nederland Community Library;
3. To seek supplemental funding to benefit the Nederland
Community Library’s collection, educational programs and
other services;
4. To further any other education and charitable purposes
within the meaning of 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code.
